Kapil Dev, the former captain of the Indian team, is always in the headlines for his statements. He keeps taunting especially about the workload management of Indian players and IPL. In this episode, a video of him has surfaced on social media in which he is asking the cricketers to handle pressure better and also saying that if they cannot play then they should sell bananas or eggs.

Actually, Indian players play a lot of cricket these days and for this reason many times they cite fatigue and pressure. However, Kapil Dev does not agree with this. Even before this, the veteran all-rounder has spoken about the mental health and workload management of the players. Kapil Dev says that when you get a chance to play cricket in a country with a population of 120 crores, the players should be happy with it.

In a video shared on Facebook, Kapil Dev said, “I heard we are playing IPL so there is a lot of pressure on us. The word pressure has become very common. So I would tell such players that you should not play cricket. Who’s asking you to play? There will be both pressure and competition in cricket. If you play at that level, you have to be open to praise as well as criticism. If you are afraid of criticism and don’t have the ability to handle it, don’t play.”

He further added, “If you are afraid of criticism and don’t have the ability to handle it, then don’t play. In a country of 100 crore people only 20 people get a chance to play and there is pressure on you. Be proud of the love you are getting from people. No one is forcing you to go and play. Go and set up a banana shop, sell eggs. You should have fun, not pressure.
