IND Vs NZ: Indian team’s off-spinner Washington Sundar created a sensation against New Zealand on Friday by taking the catch of Mark Chapman. The first series of three T20 Internationals between India and New Zealand is being played in Ranchi.
Indian team captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. Finn Allen (35) got the team off to a quick start. He scored 35 runs in 23 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.
Washington Sundar took a brilliant catch by the hands of Mark Chapman on the last ball of the over. Sundar really put the pressure on Chapman by taking the wicket of Allen and scored three runs in three balls. On the fourth ball of the over, Chapman went ahead and defended and the ball hit the top of his bat and went a little in the air.
Washington Sundar was alert and shifted his body to the right in preparation for a brilliant right-hander’s catch. The video of this catch has gone viral on social media. Sundar sent Chapman back before even opening the account.
By the way, the umpire initially doubted whether this catch had been taken or not. As a result, the on-field umpire sought the help of the third umpire. Sundar had taken a very clear catch of Chapman, it was clearly visible to everyone in the replays.
