In an interview with BCCI TV, Jadeja said, “I was eagerly waiting to come back and play for India. I had been struggling with my knee for some time, hence the need for surgery. I had to decide whether to go for surgery before the World Cup or after. The doctors advised that I had to do it before the World Cup as even if I had not undergone the surgery, my chances of playing in the World Cup were slim. So, I made up my mind to go for it.”

He further added, “The time during the surgery was very difficult but it also cut through the time to wear the Team India jersey again. I am very happy and excited to be back. I got a chance to wear the Indian jersey again. I am happy that I got this chance again. There have been many ups and downs in the journey till here because when you don’t play cricket for almost five months, it becomes very depressing. I was looking forward to getting fit again as soon as possible so that I can play for India again.”
